The Haryana government has issued a revised notification outlining the conditions for factories seeking exemptions to employ women during night shifts (between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM). These revisions prioritize the safety and well-being of women workers.

Zero Tolerance for Sexual Harassment: Factories must strictly adhere to the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, ensuring a safe working environment free from harassment.

Internal Committee (IC) Mandatory: Every factory must establish an Internal Committee to investigate complaints of sexual harassment as per the law.

Enhanced Security Measures: Proper lighting, CCTV cameras, and well-trained security guards (including female guards) are mandatory inside and outside the factory premises. Safe transportation with responsible drivers, communication channels, and tracking systems is also required for women workers.

Women Empowerment: Supervisors or shift-in-charges for women working night shifts must be women. Additionally, women workers will have a monthly meeting with the factory management to address grievances.

Medical Support and Awareness Programs: Factories must provide appropriate medical facilities with a doctor or female nurse during night shifts. Additionally, workshops and awareness programs will be organized to educate women workers about their rights and safety measures.
